It has felt like a century since I have last posted. This last semester at school was insanely busy and blogging fell to the back burner (again). But now that exams are over, I have more time and I want to start blogging again. To start off, I am going to share my favourite things from the last few months. Ready? Lets dive in!
In My Current Favourites post last year, I mentioned my love for the YouTuber Kalyn Nicholson. I love her energy and she is so inspiring and motivating. She recently started a podcast, Kalyn’s Coffee Talk, where she covers a variety of topics, from wellness to mental health, in order to help you live your best life. I am obsessed.
I have also been obsessing over the Adult Sh1t podcast, from As/Is (Buzzfeed), hosted by the lovely Kelsey Darragh and Kate Peterman. They push boundaries, talking about everything from going to the gyno to mental illness to self-care. It is super empowering and simply amazing. Unfortunately, Kate just announced that she would be leaving the podcast. However, I know it will still be just as incredible with just Kelsey!
I highly recommend listening to both these podcasts!
Favourite TV Shows
There has been so many new TV shows that I have been loving. However, my two favourites are Rise and For The People. Inspired by a true story, Rise has been called the new Glee and stars the incredibly talented Auli’i Cravalho, also know as the real life Moana. On the other hand, For The People is a legal drama created by the brilliant Shonda Rhimes and is sure to fill the gap in your heart after the final episode of Scandal.
One of my favourite books ever is Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda. So, when I heard that they were making a movie, Love, Simon, inspired by the book, I had very high expectations. This movie surpassed all of them! It was beautifully made and the cast was amazing. I highly recommend seeing this movie if you haven’t yet.
Speaking of Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda, the author recently released a sequel. The sequel, Leah on the Offbeat, was centered around Simon’s best friend, Leah. While I believe that the original is always better than the sequel, this book didn’t disappoint. I couldn’t put it down! I literally finished it in three hours! You need to read this book.
I also have a second book favourite: Meet Cute: Some People and Destined to Meet. This collection of short stories for young adult authors was adorable and made my heart melt. Each short story was about a “meet cute,” a cute way that two people, destined to be together, first meet. This is such a feel-good book and is perfect if you want a book that makes you smile!
For whatever reason, my under eyes have not been having it lately. I am always waking up with them slightly swollen and heavy-feeling. Benefit’s Its Potent Eye Cream has been a lifesaver. I apply it after my toner and before my facial oil and my under eyes instantly feel so much better. As for a cleanser I have been reaching for the Garnier Rose Water Cleansing Milk. Most cleansers, even ones for dry or sensitive skin, leave my skin feeling tight and dry. Which is why, for the last year or so, I have only been using cleansing oils, which I love. However, on my last trip to the drugstore, I found no cleansing oils, so I picked this cleansing milk up instead. It leaves my skin feeling clean, refreshed, and hydrated. I am so happy that I picked it up and I highly recommend it if you have dry skin like mine!
What have you been loving lately? Let me know in the comments below!
