DIY Custom Lipstick

I may be the only one, but do you have several lipsticks but only use a few? Have you ever purchased a bright blue lipstick that you thought would be cute but have never had the confidence to wear? Well, you can but those unused lipsticks to good use with this DIY custom lipstick. Are your ready to start mixing? Let’s dive in!

Materials

Lipsticks

A container (I used an old Lush sample container)

Something to mix with (I used a toothpick)

Liquid Lip + Cheek Tint (Optional)

Essential Oils (Optional)

Directions

I decided on using two lipsticks but you can use more than two, if you want. The two I used were both from Rimmel London, Candy and Airy Fairy. Start off by removing the lipstick from the tube and placing it in the container. Then mix until smooth.Swatch on your hand to see if you like the shade. Then, if you want, you can use a few drops of a lip + cheek tint (I used Benefit’s Benetint) to alter the shade. It doesn’t impact the shade dramatically but changes the undertones a bit. I personally don’t like the scent of the Rimmel Lipsticks, so you can always add a drop or two of your favourite essential oil to alter the scent.

Voila! You have a custom lipstick shade!
