October is my favourite and least favourite month of the year, all wrapped into one unique month. I love fall weather, but there is only ever one week of perfect fall weather before it starts to feel as thought it should snow. It is also my birthday month but it always ends up getting so busy with school and everything else that I never really do much for my birthday, that and I’m not the biggest fan of birthdays. But, I do truly love October, and just like with every other month, I have monthly favourites. So, let’s dive right in.
I read a lot of light, easy books this month, and while they were all really good, Tiny Broken Things by Sona Charaipotra was the best. The story is told in perspective from three of the top female dancers at an exclusive Manhattan ballet school, Gigi, June, and Betty. The story interlaces romance, sabotage, and hard work in an amazing story of what it takes to become the best and stay the best.
In the past few months, I have gotten really into listening to podcasts while I work. The one I am really into right now is Serial. Serial takes one true crime story, and over an entire season, unfolds the story and tries to find the truth. If you are into crime and mystery, check out this podcast.
Favourite TV Show
I am still into Notorious and Designator, which I mentioned in my last month’s favourites. However, I have added a new show onto my watch list, Bull. This show focuses on Dr. Jason Bull, a psychologist who work with his team at a jury consulting term. They analyze the jury and use their analysis to help their clients worked on the case. Can you tell I like crime shows?
This may sound juvenile but every Halloween, I watch the Halloweentown Series. I grew up watching this series and love taking a quick trip into the past. Starring Kimberly J. Brown and Debbie Reynolds, the story focuses around a Marnie, a young teenager, who finds out the her family are witches from Halloweentown, a different world where all the monsters live away from the human world.
