May Favourites

I can’t believe that it is already June! Summer is practically here. As I am writing this, it is almost 40 degrees Celsius outside and I am wishing for a large iced tea. But, before we continue the journey straight into summer, it is always good to look back on the spring. So, that is exactly what this post is. I am looking back at the past month and telling you all about what I have been loving. Ready? Let’s dive in!

Favourite Place

This month, I went to New York City for the first time! I did all the tourist things, like going to the top of 30 rock and seeing Wicked on Broadway. While I loved it all and can’t wait to go back, I think my favourite part was seeing a bit of Brooklyn. I only got to see a few blocks, but I loved all the little stores and the view of Manhattan.

Favourite Jewelry

While I was in New York, I went into a ton of vintage shops. I love trying to find a vintage piece when I travel. I have a vintage suede jacket from Paris and I wanted something from New York. It wasn’t until the very last day, when we where walking back from lunch, to grab our luggage and head to the airport, that I found this gorgeous vintage necklace that was actually affordable (NYC vintage clothing and accessories are really expensive). It is made of smoky quartz, which is supposed to keep you grounded, and is really simple and pretty. I have seen a lot of necklaces like this one recently and I am really happy that I found one that I love.

Favourite Drink

The weather this May has been insane. At the beginning of the month, it was snowing, but now it is practically summer. So, while this drink isn’t the best summer drink, I did love it during the colder mornings this month. It is tea. I used to drink Stash tea but it wasn’t until this month, when I started drink David’s Tea every morning, that I really realized how much better loose leaf tea is. It is more expensive but is really worth it. If you are looking for a new tea to try at David’s Tea, I have been drinking The Buzz and North African Mint all this month and love them all. If you are looking for something iced, my current go-to is Caribbean Crush.

Favourite Book

I have been starting to really get into health and wellness books. This month I started the book Pretty Healthy by Kate Hudson. I have been trying to turn off my computer every night 30 minutes before I plan on going to sleep and pick up a book. I am only a few chapters in but it is so inspiring and informative, while still being fun and entertaining. It gets two thumbs up from me and I defienelty recommend it!
