What Are Nail Tints??

If you are want a more natural nail look that is more than bare nails, nail tints are the way to go. Nail tints are usually sheer neutral toned nail polish that evens the colour of the nail, covering any staining, while making your nails look more illuminated. It is basically a tinted moisturizer for your nails. Not all nail tints are the same, though. Below are 5 different nail tints, so you can find the right one for you. Ready? Lets dive in!

Nail Tint

1. Zoya Naked Manicure Lavender Perfector ($10)

Zoya’s Naked Manicure line contains 6 different perfectors (Nude, Buff, Tip, Pink, Mauve and Lavender). They all have different properties, but the lavender one is colour correcting and great for anyone with stained nails. Also, you can customize your nail tint look by layering different perfectors on top each other.

2. Formula X Sheer Strength in Marvelous ($13)

These nail tints from Formula X are very similar to the Zoya ones. However, they come in a range of 10 different sheer colours, all of which are either in the purple, pink or nude family. Also, this one contains strengthening properties that strengthen, nourish and protect your nails.

3. SpaRitual Vegan Care and Correct Crème ($17)

This vegan option is available in 3 shades, light, medium and tan. Not only are these products more environmentally friendly, but they help smooth, strengthen, brighten and protect your nails.

4. Deborah Lippmann Genie In a Bottle ($20)

While it looks like a super pigmented sparkly purple in the bottle, it is actual rather sheer and the sparkly bits help brighten your nails. Also, just like the Zoya one, the purple colour helps colour corrects your nails. Furthermore, this nail tint contains ingredients, such as green tea and mica, which are really good for your nails.

5. Butter London Nail Foundation Priming Basecoat ($24)

Although it is technically a base coat, you can still wear it as a nail tint. This product will help fill in ridges on your nails, while promoting them to be healthier and strong by using Horsetail Extract and Hydrolyzed Silk. Furthermore, they are 7 free, meaning they are free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP, toluene, camphor, ethyl tosylamide, or xylene.
