Unless you were blessed with surgeon steady hand, painting your own nails can get a bit messy. You end up knocking over the nail polish or getting it all over your nails. And for what? You will just end up smudging it or chipping it within in the next 24 hours. At least, that is what happens to me. So, here are 5 different products to solve all of those problems. Are you ready? Lets dive in and get ready for our at home manicures!
1. Topshop Rapid Dry Nail Spray ($6)
This is to help with the smudging that happens right after you paint your nails. We don’t all have time to sit there for what feels like hours to wait for them to completely dry. Instead, spray them with a quick dry spray like this one to dramatically cut down the dry time. Now, you can spend more time doing what you love, like making this DIY Lip and Cheek Tint, without worrying about smudging your nails.
2. Grip and Tip Nail Polish Holder ($3)
I have spilt nail polish, a lot. This nail polish holder could be a lifesaver for people like me. With this, you wont have to worry about getting nail polish all over your floor or desk. If you still manage to spill it, a quick trick is to pour a lot of sugar on the spill right away. The sugar bunches the polish together into clumps so it is easier to clean up and will leave no stains.
3. Kiesque Liquid Palisade Easy-Peel Polish Barrier ($14)
Available at Sephora, this polish barrier could be the key to keeping your cuticles polish free. Earlier this week, I mentioned how you can use Vaseline to make nail polish be easier to remove from your skin. But, if the Vaseline is too messy for your taste, try this easy peel polish. Also, you can use it for nail art, as shown on the packaging.
4. Essie Gel Setter Top Coat
Now onto those chips. A top coat may seem obvious but there is more to it than one stroke. Yes, applying a top coat after your regular polish will make it last long without chipping. But, if you also apply another coast of the top coat every other day, it will reduce chipping and keep your top coat looking shiny.
5. Jamberry Gatsby Nail Wraps
Even with all these products, if you still can’t paint your nails, try nail wraps. Not only do you get your nails done in an instant, but there are tons of cool designs to choose from. They do take some practice but it is easier than painting your nails and cheap than getting your nails done at most good salons. Sounds like a win-win to me.
