DIY Lip and Check Tint

I had an old Gosh pressed powder container and a beaten up NYC lipstick that have been sitting around for a while. So, I decided to make a super simple DIY Lip and Check Tint, that isn’t only pretty, but moisturizing. Want to see how I did it? Keep on reading!

  • Lipstick (Any colour)
  • Coconut Oil
  • Container
  • Start of by putting the lipstick it a small bowl.
  • Add the coconut oil. The amount is up to you. It depends on how sheer you want the colour and the size of your container.
  • Microwave for 1:00, stirring after 30 seconds.
  • Mix it until combined.

  • Pour concoction into the contain and let sit until it has set.
Best Lipsticks To Use
For this, you want to use lipstick you already have lying around or that is on sale. Try brands such as Wet ‘n Wild, E.L.F., NYC or Essence because they are super inexpensive, only a few dollars, and since you are melting it and mixing it, the formula doesn’t matter as much as the colour. For the spring or summer, try a coral, such as the NYC Expert Last Lipstick in Pure Coral. As for the fall and winter, try a more plum tone, like the Wet ‘n Wild Lipstick in Sugar Plum Fairy. For a year round colour, which was more of the look I was going for, try a bright pink, such as the Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in Cotton Candy.
